What to Bring

CLOTHING :

In Spring and Summer (September to April)

Temperatures can reach 35c and higher. Light clothing is recommended. Take a pullover for early morning drives.

Blankets are provided in the case of cold temperatures. A light raincoat or poncho is recommended. Poncho’s can be purchased at Kruger shops too.

The lodge has a swimming pool so take swimming gear and a towel.

It is recommended that you take a pair of long pants for protection from insects, especially mosquito’s in the evenings.

Closed shoes are recommended for the canyon hike. Whilst on game drives, sandals are also appropriate.

A hat is quite essential, especially on game drives.

In Autumn and Winter (May to August)

Temperatures can drop below 5C in the mornings and evenings, but pleasant temperatures up to 25C in the afternoons.

You will need warm clothing, especially for game drives. Gloves and a beanie are useful on the early morning drives and the sunset Drive as well as the late return drive on the open vehicle from Kruger Park. We supply blankets for these occasions.

TORCH, BINOCULARS, CAMERA :

A torch could be handy around camp at night. A camera is almost a necessity for safari’s, or a mobile phone for photos. Binoculars are extremely handy for far sightings and bird watching.

Each tent and chalet have plug outlets to charge mobile phones and cameras etc. All accommodation has lighting.

Cash is needed for lunches during transfers and in Kruger Park, snacks throughout the daytime and for the bar at the lodge in the evenings.  Gratuities for guides are always appreciated, but not compulsory, and can be considered for your cash on hand.
