The camp is situated within the Greater Kruger conservancy, surrounded by popular game reserves such as Kapama and Thornybush. Nestled next to a lake, with a view of the Drakensberg mountains, the camp has a beautiful setting, and a relaxed atmosphere. The camp is a great birding spot, with water birds as well as bush veld species frequenting the area. Sightings of Malachite kingfisher, Goliath heron, Purple-crested turaco, White-backed and Hooded vultures are to mention a few. The camp area itself has large mammals such as Nyala, Burchell’s zebra, Impala, Waterbuck, Warthog, Vervet monkeys and more. Leopard’s frequent the area, as well as porcupines, Genet’s, civets, bush babies, and other nocturnal creatures.
Sitting by the camp fire and listening to lions roar, or leopards calling, is one of the highlights of a tour. A stroll around the lake is a good way to relax and enjoy the scenery.
